HISTORY

Montessori De San Juan was established in 1975 by Pomona G. Arellano.  It carried the name Children’s House on Montessori Lane but was eventually changed to Montessori De San Juan in 1990.

The school started with the 3 to 6 years old Pre-school level and completed its Primary level in 1981.  It completed its Secondary level in 1985.

The school is a recognized Montessori School by the American Montessori Society because two of its staff took the Montessori method of education in the Center for Montessori Teacher Education in New York and a Montessori Training Center in the Bay Area, San Francisco.

Montessori has been in existence for almost 50 years.  It is committed to exposing the students to a learning environment that will assist them in adapting and adjusting to a diverse and ever changing society.  The school believes that a small class size is paramount to knowing each child as an individual with his own needs, characteristics, capabilities and potential.
